1 Put a piece of tape over one of the copper-colored square contacts in the HP print cartridge. Carefully place the cartridge into the printer. You may receive an error message that should be ignored.
2 Allow the printer to print an alignment test page, then remove the cartridge from the printer.
3 Leave the first piece of tape on the cartridge, then place a small additional piece of tape over the second copper-colored contacts. Place the cartridge into the printer and print another alignment page.
4 Remove the cartridge from HP, then carefully remove the tape and placed in the copper-colored contacts. Place the cartridges in the printer and resume normal printing. At this point the ink level status should be zero, which shows "complete."
